UNWLA President Iryna Kuro wyckyj attended the Semiannual Board of Directors Meeting of the National Council of Women of USA. • Nov. 11, 2001. The UNWLA President, New York Regional Council President Nadia Sawczuk, and Editor-in-Chief of Our Life Irena Chaban attended the 20th anniversary celebration of Branch 119 in Yonkers N.Y. The UNWLA President saluted the branch members for all of their achievements and presented them with a special certificate from the UNWLA National Board for their 20 years of work. The Regional Council President also presented Branch 119 with a certificate of appreciation. At the end of the program, the President of the UNWLA, with best wishes of all members of Branch 119, bestowed the title of the Honorary President of Branch 119 to Irena Mociuk • Nov. 12, 2001. A briefing and a reception were held for Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Anatoliy Zlenko and his wife at the Ukrainian Institute of America. The UNWLA President attended this event and, on behalf of the UNWLA, welcomed Mrs. Ludmila Zlenko with flowers. • Nov. 17, 2001. The UNWLA Executive Committee Meeting was held. After the meeting, the UNWLA President and many UNWLA members attended the Commemoration of the 68th Anniversary of Ukrainian Famine-Genocide at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. • Nov. 18, 2001. Branch 93 in Hartford, Connecticut celebrated it 35 th anniversary. The UNWLA Presided attended the celebration, thanked the members of the Branch for their many years of work for the good of the organization, and presented them with a special certificate for their 35th anniversary. UNWLA Regional Council President Zoryana Mishtal greeted the Branch and thanked them for their long years of labors of love. • On the same day Branch 95 (Kerhankson/Pough- keepsie, New York), whose Patroness is Katherine Zarecky Soroka, celebrated its 10th anniversary. Unfortunately, none of the members of the Executive Committee could be present, but the UNWLA sent greetings and a certificate honoring the branch on its 10th anniversary. • December 6, 2001. On the occasion of the 10th Anniversary of Ukrainian Armed Forces Day, a reception was hosted by Ambassador Valeriy P. Kuchinsky, Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the United Nations. The UNWLA President attended the event.
