NEWS FROM UNWLA HEADQUARTERS Lidia Kolodchyn and Marusia Beck. • March 11, 2000. The UNWLA Regional Council of Chicago held its annual meeting during which Luba Kalin was re-elected president. UNWLA Vice-president for organizational affairs Sophia Hewryk took part in the meeting. The Executive Committee of the UNWLA congratulates Ms. Ka lin on her re-election and wishes her and the entire board much success. • March 18, 2000. The Regional Council of De troit began the celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the UNWLA with a gala banquet. Natalia Hewko headed the committee for the festivities. The keynote speaker at the event was UNLWA president Iryna Kurowyckyj. During the banquet, Ms. Kurowyckyj presented certificates to 50-year members of the UNWLA, to Council president Lidia Kolodchyn, and to Branch presidents. • March 19, 2000. At the annual meeting of the Regional Council of Detroit, Natalia Hewko was Iryna Kurowyckyj. elected council president. The Executive Commit tee wishes the newly elected president, the Re gional Council of Detroit and all its members much success and thanks them for their many years of work in the organization. • March 24, 2000. The Board of Directors of the Ukrainian Museum met to discuss funding needs for the museum. • March 25, 2000. The Regional Council of Philadelphia celebrated the 75th Anniversary of the UNWLA. The committee organizing the festivities was headed by Ludmyla Chajkowska. The celebration began with a panel entitled "Woman in a Kaleidoscope", organized by Dzvinka M. Zacharczuk.
