It was like thousands of friendly happy eyes surrounded by an army of sharp looking leaves shooting from the ground. And all the golden flowers greeted Weeping Willow. "Good morning, Weeping Willow!" Weeping Willow was so surprised that his silvery leaves again turned into tears, but this time it was tears of joy. Now Weeping Willow understood Blow Ball Kul'baba's promise to always be with him and always comfort him. His branches stretched even more to touch the ground and caress the golden flowers in the grass. And people who know the story of Blow Ball Kul'baba and Weeping Willow know that Blow Ball Kul'baba stands for friendship and that true friendship gives tenfold. From Ukrainian Folklore as retold to American children by Helene Turkewicz-Sanko, Ph.D. Copyright Dr. Helene Turkewicz-Sanko John Carroll University, 1999. "Oh! Where have you gone Blow Ball Kul'baba? Where are you my little Dandelion?" Then Weeping Willow heard a tiny whispering voice: "I am still here ... but I have grown and it's time for me to go ... Don't be sad ... we had a good time together ... We were friends and I will find a way to always comfort you!" Then the wind blew and Blow Ball Kul'baba suddenly burst into a thousand little pieces that looked like little white parachutes. They scattered all over the land. Weeping Willow stood all alone and sad by the winding river. When Fall came, Weeping Willow lost all his silvery leaves. Snow covered the land and all winter long Weeping Willow stood alone by the frozen winding river. Then Spring came. The frozen river came alive again. New silvery leaves appeared on Weeping Willow's branches. Green grass blades happily greeted the new season. But Weeping Willow was still sad. He missed his friend Blow Ball Kul'baba and when the night came his leaves turned into big silvery tears. One morning, when Weeping Willow woke up, there was a big, big surprise. Thousands of yellow flowers were scattered throughout the green grass blades. Видання C оюзу Українок A мерики - перевидано в електронному форматі в 2012 році . A рхів C У A - Ню Йорк , Н . Й .
