THE 25th UNWLA CONVENTION APPROACHES May 28-31, 1999 As most of you already know, our 25th convention will take place May 28-31, 1999 in the Chicago area at the Westin O'Hare Hotel, 6100 N. River Road, Rosemont, IL. In addition to plenary sessions, there are plans for interesting presentations, panels, performances and cultural activities. The Convention Committee is also planning a brief tour of downtown Chicago and the "Ukrainian Village". The convention flower is the iris. Beautiful and unique souvenirs are being prepared to commemorate our most important law-giving convention meetings which take place every three years. The Convention Committee is appealing to all Regional Council and Branch Presidents to actively assist in the preparation of this important event in the life of our organization. Without the full cooperation of all branches, the committee will not be able to properly fulfill the task with which it has been charged. We strongly urge you to select your delegates as soon as possible and return the requested forms to the Convention Committee. We also encourage all members to come to Chicago as convention guests. Guests will enjoy all the convention privileges of delegates, except official voting rights. Convention costs are very reasonable. Information about convention costs and the required forms have already been sent to all of our Branch Presidents. We urge all of you to make attendance at the convention a top priority for your plans for 1999. The success of our convention depends on all of us and that success will serve as testimony to the achievements of Ukrainian women in the U.S. --1.
