TOE 25TH UNWLA CONVENTION by MARIA TOMORUG The Ukrainian National Women's League of America, Inc. held its XXVth Convention from Friday, May 28, 1999 through Monday, May 30, 1999 at the Hotel Westin O'Hare in Rosemont, Illinois near the Chicago O'Hare Airport. There were approximately 200 delegates who came from across the United States and 100 guests who attended the convention during the four days. Hosting the convention was the Chicago Regional Council whose president is Lubomyra Kalin. The Convention Committee, chaired by Olena Semianczuk-Matwyshyn, deserves congratulations for a wonderful job. The UNWLA Convention took place at the dawn of a new century and its theme was "Our Glorious Path Is the Bridge to the Future". The Convention Book gives us a very good review of the achievements and work done by the UNWLA during the last three years. It contains various reports from President Anna Krawczuk and all of the members of the National Board as well as reports from all Branches and Regional Councils. Edited by Jaroslawa Rubel, the convention book also contains greetings from various dignitaries and organizations on the occasion of the Convention. The convention was kicked off with a pre- Convention Program which took place on Friday evening. The theme of the program, which was moderated by Vice President Iryna Kurowyckyj, was "Human Rights".
