Lidia Czernyk and Anna Krawczuk at the White House during the commemoration of the Tenth Anniversary of Chornobyl Tragedy. June 14, 1996 — A Celebration of Ethnic America was held at the White House. At the invitation of President Bill Clinton, together with over 200 representatives of different ethnic backgrounds, UNWLA President Anna Krawczuk attended the briefing and a luncheon spon sored by the DNC . In his speech, President Clinton put the emphasis on the importance and great influence of ethnic diversity in the United States. August 28, 1996 — During the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, IL “A Celebration of Ethnic America” luncheon was held at Chicago Hilton and Towers on Michigan Avenue. UNWLA Education Chair, Irena Oleksiuk represented our organization at this event. September 29, 1996 — We congratulate UNWLA ESranch 66 on its 40th Anniversary. UNWLA Executive Commit tee members Sofia Hewryk and Oxana Farion attended the festivities. October 19-20, 1996 — UNWLA Annual National Board meeting was held at the Ramada Hotel, at Newark Inter national Airport, Newark, New Jersey. October 20, 1996 — 20th Anniversary of the Ukrainian Museum in New York. The celebration was held at the Westbury Hotel, New York, New York at 1:30 PM. October 26-27, 1996 — The World Federation of Ukrain ian Women’s Organizations annual meeting was held in Toronto, Ont. Canada. UNWLA delegation headed by Anna Krawczuk included Olha Trytyak, Iryna Kurowyckyj and Jaroslawa Rubel. UNWLA members who are offic ers of the WFUWO — Natalia Danylenko, Iryna Rusnak and Chrystia Nawrocka — were also present. UNWLA President Anna Krawczuk gave a report, and presented WFUWO president, Oksana Sokolyk with UNWLA XXIV Convention book and “Bilym po Bilomu” written by Marta Bohachevsky Chomiak. ’НАШЕ ЖИТТЯ”, СІЧЕНЬ 1997 15 Toronto, Ont.
