A R C A D I A O L E N S K A - P E T R Y S H Y N P R O F I L E O F A N A R T I S T Born in Ukraine, Arcadia Olenska-Petryshyn emi grated to the United States in 1949 and settled in New York City. She attended The Arts Student League, earned an M.S. degree from Hunter College, and completed graduate courses at the University of Chicago. Ms. Olenska-Petryshyn has participated in more than 40 exhibitions in museums and galleries through out the United States and Canada. Her works have been displayed at the Minnesota Museum of Art, in New York’s Bodley Gallery, in the Oxford Gallery in Edmon ton and in many university museums and university sponsored art exhibits. Since 1990, Arcadia Olenska-Petryshyn’s paintings and graphics have been exhibited in the Ukrainian cities of Lviv (1990), Kiev (1991), Donetsk (1992), Symferopol (1993) and Dnipropetrovsk and Poltava (1994). A number of major public collections have acquired her works. Among the most notable of these are the Witte Memorial (San Antonio, Texas), the Georgia Museum of Art (Athens, Georgia), Rutgers University Art Gallery (New Brunswick, New Jersey) and The Reading Public Museum and Art Gallery (Pennsylvania).
