WE WELCOME NEW ENGLISH EDITOR — TAMARA STADNYCHENKO! Editorial Board of “Our Life” (left to right) Irena Chaban, Martha Bohachevsky-Chomiak, Tamara Stadnychenko, Iwanna Rozankowskyj and Anna Krawczuk. NOTES FROM THE EDITOR Before I was an editor I was an editor. As a writing professor at various colleges and universities in Pensyl- vania and Georgia, I was editor by default. My editing work was a pragmatic and indispensable part of my teaching responsibilities, constant and voluminous. Now, as the new English language editor of the UNWLA’s Our Life, I am editor by title, but find myself in the singularly uncomfortable position of having very little to edit. As a college instructor, I worked with students who were enrolled, sometimes kicking and screaming, into my writing classes, students who were totally and emphatically convinced that they hated to write, could not write and would not write. Not much has changed. Most adults find the prospect of writing distatesful and frigthening. They, like my students, worry about appear ing foolish, they worry about bad grammar and spelling, 14 ’НАШЕ ЖИТТЯ”, СІЧЕНЬ 1995 Видання C оюзу Українок A мерики - перевидано в електронному форматі в 2012 році .
