Rybakiw, Luba Bilowchtchuk, Robert Kwolyk (from GE), Dr. Olha Rybakiw, Sr., Olha Trytyak, Maria Pazuniak (President UNWLA Br. 54), and Boruslawa Bass. “I am happy to be here today together with our Vice President, Olga Trytyak, to represent the National Board of the Ukrainian National Women’s League of America. We are glad to see our joint MRI project with CCRF nearing completion, and that the GE MRI will soon be on its way to Kyyiv, Ukraine. On behalf of the UNWLA membership I extend our gratitude to each and eve ryone who made it possible. First of all, we wish to thank all the people at the State Department, in Congress, and other branches of the US government who worked with the Children of Chornobyl Relief Fund to procure the C-5 cargo plane for the shipment of this MRI to Kyyiv. Thank you to Dr. Chrystia Slywotzky and Dr. Ihor Sawczuk, consultants to UNWLA and CCRF, Maria Janu and Bob Kwolyk at the General Electric Company for their help in coordinating this project. We thank Dr. Zenon and Nadia Matkiwsky of CCRF for their prudent foresight of such an undertaking culminating with the results that we see here today. We thank the media for its coverage, especially Lisa L. Colangelo of The Asbury Park Press of New Jersey, who interviewed our president regarding this project prior to her departure for Kyyiv. Last but not least, we thank our membership na tionwide, who worked very hard to raise the funds that were needed. We admire Lidia Czernyk, UNWLA Social Welfare Chair, for all the volunteer hours she dedicated to this project. Lidia, together with UNWLA President, Anna Krawczuk, are already in Kyyiv where they will meet the first US made MRI in Ukraine. I thank you for your attention”.
