Editor, OUR LIFE Cont. US CALLS... between developed and developing countries. We must cooperate with and learn from each other, and we should share our experiences in order to find solutions to the problems of rural and urban women and women in the developing, as well as the developed, nations. The resolutions we introduce should be simple, straightfoward, clear statements. They should provide meaningful recommendations to our government and the UN system for improving the status of women. All of us — East, West, North, South — must make a concerted effort to focus on issues of pressing concern to the majority of the world’s women. We have a great opportunity to put aside political differences that divide us and to work together to benefit women of every country. I feel confident that we are up to the challenge and that we will seize this opportunity to continue our progress in improving the status of women throughout the world.
