"КУТОК ЛИСТУВАННЯ”, запрошує вас до участи. Це листування має чисто товариський характер і численні особи нав’язали з собою письменний контакт. Деякі нав’язали дружні відносини, дехто себе відвідує при нагоді подоро жей у США чи інших країнах. Подаю уривки із листів ч. 619.... Мені 24 роки, студентка, пластунка. Зацікавлена спортом, лещатарством, мандрівництвом, мистец твом. Люблю подорожувати. Бажаю нав’язати кон такт з українцями від 22 до 35 років з подібними заці кавленнями. Можу писати українською та англій ською мовами. HELP ROSTYK! In front of us we see a letter from a mother in Poland, writing to us about an unfortunate accident, the victim of which was her 2Vz year old son Rostyk. As a result of the accident, Rostyk’s left hand has been crip pled: the palm is immobilized, two fingers are missing. With the letter, we received photographs and X-rays of the injured hand. To correct the handicap, plastic surgery is necessary; however, the surgery cannot be done in Poland. We have also received family pictures of the adorable little boy Rostyk and his equally lovable younger sister Roxana. The photographs and X-rays of the injured hand have been examined by Ukrainian doctors in the U.S., as well as by orthopedic specialists, all of whom agree that the operation is not only possible in the U.S., but necessary as well if Rostyk is to regain the use of his left hand. The UNWLA Social Service Committee together with the Public Relations Committee have undertaken Rostyk’s case. They have made contact with doctors, asking of their opinions, and are now looking for an orthopedic surgeon and a hospital that would offer Rostyk discounted fees. Even if surgery could be performed at a relatively low cost, there still remains the matter of a formal invitation to Rostyk and his mother, as well as the high costs of travelling and living expenses. ч. 622....
