RESUME OF ACTIVITIES Branch #37 — for Year — 1980 January 2 Regional Council Meeting 8 Br. #37 Luncheon Meeting: Malanka Party followed; Husbands invited. 17 Ukrainian Village Bldg. Fund general meeting: Pres, and several others attended. 20 Independence Day Concert (Fitzgerald High School)several attended & myself. February 3 Regional Council Annual Election of Officers (UNWLA) 12 Br. #37 Meeting Cancelled — Due to hazardous driving, weather conditions. 13 Ukr. Village Annual Election Meeting 16 Attended St. Michael’s Fund Raiser Luncheon given by Br. 58. Proceeds to Bldg. Fund March 2 Attended Mary Beck’s Birthday Banquet — Nationally known Ukrainian Leader and Speaker; Ex-President of Detroit’s City Council Government. 5 Regional Council Meeting 11 Br. #37 Luncheon Meeting: Business (Dues collec.) & Pysanka Symbolism Prog. April 2 Regional Council Meeting 8 Br. #37 Luncheon Meeting: Program — Consumer’s Marketing by Guest speaker, Joy Marconi. We also acquired new member — Mary Jo Miles. May 7 Regional Council Meeting 11 Attended International Institute Program — Irene Kozachenko (a 45 year member of UNWLA) was honored as “Mother of the Year” — a deserving recognition. 13 Br. #37 Luncheon Meeting. June 1 Ukrainian Village Building Fund Picnic: Blessing of Grounds & Dedication. Donations collected by Br. 37. 4 Regional Council Meeting 10 Br. 37 Luncheon Business Meeting: Annual election of officers. 27 Rummage Sale — by Regional Council at Carpenter Hall. Proceeds donated to Ukr. Village Bldg. Fund. Full participation by Br. 37. July 11-17 Republic Convention in Detroit Renaissance Center. We participated in Food Booth at Ethnic Riverfront Hart Plaza; proceeds to Ukr. Village Bldg. Fund. 27 Regional Council Picnic at “Dibrova Estate” — Br. 37 donated food. Proceeds were donated to Bldg. Fund. August 15-17 Participated fully in Ukr. Ethnic Festival at Detroit’s Riverfront Hart Plaza selling in Reg. Council booth for Bldg. Fund; also, our own (Br. 37) money-making projects (embroidered items & booklets). September 3 Regional Council Meeting 23 Br. 37 Fall Luncheon Meeting: Trip taken to Cultural Center visiting Main Public Library exploring ethnic embroidery books, etc. 28 Attended Sunday lecture by Mesdames Kwitkowska & Stefaniuk, delegates to WFUWO convention in Copenhagen; reporting to interested group. October 1 Regional Council Meeting 14 Br. 37 Luncheon Meeting: Had a Workshop on making Ukrainian Rag Dolls with Guest Demonstrator — Jennie Metryn. November 5 Regional Council Meeting 11 Br. 37 Luncheon Meeting: Program: Workshop — Dried Breads. 16 Banquet — “Soyuzanka Day” — Regional Council celebrating 45th Anniversary in Detroit. Awarded special re cognition to members of 45 years standing. Donations accepted; proceeds went to Bldg. Fund. Many chapters had their own handiwork, etc. arranged on display tables, for viewing. December 3 Regional Council Meeting. (No chapter meeting this month) 23 Welfare Division of Regional Council requested we make Christmas visit with some deserving Ukr. sick person needing help whose name they gave. I, personally, visited Mrs. Babiak of Fielding Avenue bringing her a ham, cake, rolls and candy for her visiting small grandchildren, who are motherless. Mrs. Babiak is recovering from a recent operation. Postscript #1 — We are very proud that several of our Branch 37 members have been serving our Ukrainian community through the Detroit Regional Council as follows: Building Fund Chairperson — Anastasia Volker responsible for Bldg. Fund for senior citizens housing in Warren — (a Regional Council project) Also serving on Detroit Ukrainian Ethnic Festival Executive Board Board Auditor — Myrtle Slaby (at one time served as President of Detroit Regional Council) Press — Sophie Anderson ComDlled bv: Soohie Anderson. Pres. ЗАГАЛЬНІ ЗБОРИ 89-ИЙ ВІДДІЛ СУА КЕРГОНКСОН, Н.Й. Річні загальні збори Відділу відбулися 8-го лютого 1981 р. в присутності організаційної референтки Окружної Управи Нью-Йорк Марти Данилюк. Вибрано нову управу Відділу в такому складі: Оксана Ленець — голова, Анна Слободян — заступниця голови, Лідія Яців — секретарка, Аґнес Хоманчук — касирка. Рефрентки: Ірина Винник — організаційна, Наталія Вой- наовська — культурно-освітня, Софія Барусевич і Оксана Бедрій — мистецькі, Дарія Хухра — виховна, Емілія Реннер і Еріка Александрович — суспільної опіки, Зеновія Коваль ська, Льоня Савеська, Дарія Стасюк — імпрезові, Ольга Денисенко — пресова, Софія Барусевич, Мирослава Кондра — зв’язків, Ольга Олійник, Марія Круг і Ела Досяк — господарські. Контрольна Комісія: Магдалина Квас — голова, Ярослава Авраччук і Ярослава Крижановська — членки. Повідомляють про сходини — Александра Яців, Ольга Бодлак, Ірина Винник. СПРОСТУВАННЯ У "Нашому Житті” за січень 1981 р. в статті п.н. МІЖ ОКРУЖНА КОНФЕРЕНЦІЯ В ЮТИЦІ трапилася помилка: Ст. 20, ліва шпальта, п’ятий рядок знизу пропущено 47- ий Відділ.
