A n o th e r m a tte r w hich h a s been ra th e r n eg lected in th e p a st T h e N atio n a l C ouncil of W o m en o f th e U n ited S ta te s (N C W );of w h ich th e U N W L A is one o f its 26 m em b er o rg a n iz a tio n s (sin ce 1952), h a s alw ay s been in th e v a n g u a rd of m ov e m en ts o f g re a te stc o n c e rn to w o m en. O rg an ized in 1888, it h a s led in th e stru g g le fo r w om en ’s rig h ts , h ig h e r ed ucation , social care an d v o lu n ta ry co m m u n ity actio n . R e cen t g ro g ra m s h av e in clu d ed co n su m erism , ecology., h e alth , d ru g s y o u th p ro b lem s, volun- te e rism , re fo rm in g th e Social S e c u rity L aw , esp ecially as to w o m en, an d h u m a n rig h ts in A m e- an d w h ich w e sh o u ld im p ro v e in th e fu tu re is a stro n g e r tie w ith o th e r w om en ’s o rg an izatio n s an d fe d e ra tio n s in th e U n ited S ta tes. T h e activ e su p p o rt to o u r cau se o f all w om en ’s o rg a n izatio n s w ould c e rta in ly c a rry g re a t w eig h t. B u t b efo re w e can re q u e st th e ir aid, w e o u rselv es m u st becom e m o re involved. T h e above su g g estio n s a re ju s t a few id eas to re fle c t upon.
