D orothy H ough ton, dean em eritus of th e College of H um an Developm ent, Judge Florence M. Kelley, A d m in istra tiv e Judge, D r. M arg aret Mead, anthropologist, M rs. M ary Roe- bling, chairm an of th e board of th e T renton T ru st Com pany, Dr. Helen T au ssig of Johns H opkins H ospital and D r. B enneta B. W ashington, director of th e W om en’s Job Corps. A special questionnnaire has been issued p ertain in g to tab le setting s, serving sequences, and th e p rep aratio n of trad itio n al foods. Sincerely yours, Josep h A d ler C, Special P ro jects L IT E R A R Y T R A N S L A T IO N COM PETITION The W orld F ederatio n of U k rain ian W om en’s O rganizations has established a L itera ry T ranslation C om petition to en courage young bilinguists to try th e ir hand a t tra n sla tin g U k rainian lite ra ry w orks. The firs t com petition held in 1966, w as won by M iss B ohdana W olanska fo r h er tran slatio n into E nglish of K ath erin e S h tu l’s sh o rt sto ry “The M eeting.” The second com p etitio n called fo r a tran slatio n of Sophia P arfano w y ch’s “D an g er.” The w inner of th is com pe titio n has no t y et been selected. C L E V E L A N D E V E N T S The P ro g ram Book of UNW LA B ranch 60 in Cleveland, Ohio, lists several in tere stin g events w hich took place in A ug ust and Septem ber. A picnic w as held a t Lakewood P a rk on A u gu st 18. One h alf of th e Pavilion a t Lakewood was reserved fo r th e Club and a Band C oncert w as presented in th e evening. In A u gu st tw o to u rs w ere o r ganized to U kraine by th e Ship- ka A gency. U N W LA m em bers who w ent on th e to u rs have prom ised to sh are th e ir ex peri ence w ith th e entire m em bership of B ranch 60. On Septem ber 5 a lecture on “A W om an’s A pproach to M en opause” w as given in th e W est Side F ederal B uilding. D r. Gene W. B oychuk w as th e speaker.
