B R A N C H 72 P R E S ID E N T Rosalie C. Polche, now serving as P resid en t of B ranch 72 of UNW LA, w as born in New Y ork City, th e d au g h ter of M ary and N icholas Chum a. In th e in te r vening y ears since h er g ra d u a tion from W ashington Irving H igh School, she w as a legal sec re ta ry in th e law firm of C harles E vans H ughes, Jr., son of th e late C hief Ju stice of th e Su prem e Court. She p articip ated actively in U krainian affa irs and w as associated w ith th e In te r national In stitu te and YW CA in New Y ork City. She also served as P resid ent of th e U krainian Civic C enter. H er in tere sts in U krainian activities w ere fu r th e r enriched by belonging to th e U krainian Y outh League of N o rth A m erica, th e U krainian M etropolitan A rea Com m ittee, and, presently, th e U krainian In stitu te of A m erica. H er hom e life centers around h er husband H a rry Polche, a serg ean t in th e New Y ork Police D epartm ent, who is also active in civic and veteran circles. An extrem ely active wom an, Rosalie Polche was inspired to join th e U N W LA in June, 1964 by h er m other, who has been a m em ber of B ranch 3 fo r th e p a st 35 years. M rs. Polche’s services to B ranch 72 have been continu ous since becom ing a m em ber. She has served in tu rn as Cor responding S ecretary and P u b  licity C hairm an, and w as Co- C hairm an of th e firs t D inner Dance sponsored by th e B ranch a t th e H otel A m ericana. Rosalie Polche accepted th e leadership of B ranch 72 w ith g re at pride because she consid ered it an opportunity to be of fu rth e r service. She is also cu r ren tly serving as P ro g ram Co- C hairm an of th e New Y ork R e gional Council. M rs. R osalia Polcfhe, P re s id e n t of B ran ch 72 in N ew Y o rk C ity D O N A T IO N S TO TH E M U SE U M E X H IB IT The opening of th e Folk A rt M useum in New Y ork C ity has prom pted several UNW LA m em  bers to donate valuable a r t ob jects to th e collection. M rs. N a talia Chaplenko of B rooklyn do n ated a folk costum e of th e Vol- hyn region, M rs. Pelagia Maly- now ska of Philadelphia and M rs. S tefan ia B um bar of Los Angeles donated em broidered sh irts, and M rs. Olena N azar of New Y ork C ity gave a handw oven table cloth. All these objects will be on p erm anen t display in th e Mu seum. UNW LA BRANCH 32 ' ! B EG IN S W ORK The new ly founded UNW LA B ranch 32 held its firs t m eeting in th e new U krainian Com m un ity Home a t 140 P rospect Ave., Irvington, N. J. The B ranch also p articip ated in a picnic w ith U N  W LA B ranch 28 of N ew ark. It is planning a B ranch ch risten  ing cerem ony fo r th e fall. M rs. A nna N astiuk of B ranch 28 was very helpful in th e or ganizing of B ranch 32. M rs. Irene Lew ycka, th e P resid en t or th e R egional Council in N ew ark and M rs. M aria D ushnyck, P ub  lic R elations C hairm an of th e New Y ork Council welcomed it into th e U N W LA com m unity.
