Olga Lisovitch, a p. B oard m em ber of U N W LA B ranch 52. Born in Philadelphia, th e d au g h ter of W asyl and A ngela R ij, Olga grew up in a U k rain  ian p atrio tic atm osphere. As a young girl she took active p a rt in th e life of th e U krainian- A m erican com m unity. In M ay 1936 she m arried M r. A lexander L isovitch. T heir m arriag e w as blessed w ith two d au g h ters: Jo  an, 30, and Ellen, 24. Joan Liso vitch Sm ith has 3 children — Chuck 9, L inda 6 and M ichael 1. Ellen Lisovitch Sopalo has a 9 m onth old d au g h ter D iana and is expecting in Septem ber. M rs. Olga Lisovitch is indeed a lucky and busy grandm a too. M rs. Olga Lisovitch joined U NW LA B ranch 52 in 1937. In 1948 she becam e S ecretary, and in 1955/56 served as P resident. In 1962 she was g ran ted a Good N eighborhood A w ard fo r h er good public relations in th e vici n ity. H er m o th er M rs. A ngela R ij is th e founder and P resid ent of U N W LA B ranch 17 in M iami, Florida. U N W LA B ranch 52 is proud to have M rs. Olga Lisovitch as its m em ber. SOYUZANKA — M OTHER’S DAY F o r th e six th consecutive year two Philadelphia UNW LA B ranches have sponsored a jo in t M other’s Day celebration. B ranch 42 “D aug hters of U k ra in e” and B ranch 52 nam ed in honor of N atalia K obrynska — chose a Sunday in M ay to m eet fo r a M other and D aughter Luncheon, d uring w hich th e out stan ding m others of both B ranches w ere honored. The Luncheon on M ay 8 was opened by th e S ecretary of B ranch 42, M rs. A nna Sywulak who described th e trad itio n of th e observance. She noted th a t th is y ea r’s g ath erin g honored tw o distinguished m o th ers — M esdam es M aria P ashuk, P resi dent of B ranch 42 and Olga L i sovitch, B ranch 52 p. B oard m em ber. B oth ladies w ere g re et ed w ith a w arm round of ap- plaus from th e m em bers and guests. M rs., S tephanie W o c h o k B oard m em ber of B ranch 52, th en continued th e program . Follow ing a p ra y er led by Rev. W. Buk, a delicious luncheon, p repared by th e ladies of both B ranches under M rs. Syw ulak’s supervision, was served. Follow ing th e luncheon, M rs. Lydia Odezynski, a m em ber of B ranch 41, briefly gave th e biographi cal d ata of th e tw o honored m others, a fte r w hich M rs. Sy w ulak presented each of them w ith lovely flow er-filled U krain  ian ceram ic vases. In a special m usical program in honor of th e occasion Miss Ellen P ada, g ra n d d au g h ter of M rs. P. M alinovsky, a Board m em ber of B ranch 42, perfo rm  ed on th e piano. F o r h er recital M iss P ad a selected excerpts from “Sound of M usic,” B eetho ven’s “F or E lise,” and M assen e t’s “A ragonaise.” The last speaker on th e p ro  g ram w as M rs. H elen Zalizniak, th e distinguished P resid en t of th e W orld F ederatio n of U k rain  ian W om en’s O rganizations. I t is di rected by M rs. H elen Lototsky, H onorary UNW LA P resident.
