It w as h ap p ily noted th a t tw o new B ran ch es w ere organ ized in N ew Y ork du rin g 1964, one in low er M an hattan, th e oth er in th e B ronx. T h e new o fficers and ch airs- lad ies are b u sily w orking, striv in g to m ak e th is year as active as la st year. D isp lay o f U k rain ian a rts and cra fts and eg g colorin g b y Br. 72 m em b ers on June 6, w h ich is “U k rain ian D a y ” a t th e N ew Y ork S ta te P avilion a t th e W orld’s F air. A s in th e p ast, a t our June m eetin g w e w ill h ave an E n d -of- th e S eason p arty, w h ich w e com bine w ith a M em bership D rive. A ll th e m eetin g s are held a t th e U k rain ian In stitu te, 2 E . 79th St., N ew Y ork, on th e th ird T u es day o f th e m onth. A fter a b rief b u t fru itfu l m eetin g, w h ich w as preceded by a litera ry d iscu ssion , w e took th e fir st step in our L ead ersh ip W orkshop S eries. T h is w as a T a ras S h evch en k o C elebration in w h ich W illiam S h u st, actor, re cited S h evch en k o’s p o etry in U k rain ian and h is ow n E n g lish tra n slatio n s. M r. S h u st is a very talen ted a rtist and h is in terp re ta tio n s w ere m o st refresh in g and m ovin g. W e hope h e w ill join us again , soon. A letter to C ong. T.
