IN SPLENDOR OF FAME Dancer Roma Prym a finished he r recent European tour with great success. The critics’ re views of her dancing were excel lent, especially those of Paris. Guide de Concert found her “Lapwing” dance best, where b i rd movements express the idea of an Ukrainian folk song. The Semaine de Paris rem arked her “Icon” dance as beautiful and ex citing. Cette Semaine preferred her “Nym ph” for the subtle breath of fem inity she inspired. The Journal Musical Francais described her danced legends, based on Ukrainian folklore. In form ation and The Aurore stressed her beautiful costumes. This unanimous praise of French connoisseurs was con firm ed by reviews of Geneva, London, Vienna and Munich, where Roma Prym a had also per formed. UKRAINIAN LANGUAGE AT PENNSYLVANIA UNIV. In the Bulletin of Graduate Studies, in the school year 1963- 64 a course called “Introduction to U krainian” is announced. A young linguist Mrs. N athalia Pa- zuniak, Ph.D. was placed in charge of it. The course is of fered to graduate students who are preparing themselves for a m aster or doctor’s degree. Mrs. N athalia Pazuniak in 1956 received her doctor’s de gree at the Pennsylvania univer sity. Her specialty the U krain ian and Russian languages. She form erly taught Russian in W est Chester College, and is now teaching U krainian in Manor Junior College in Philadelphia. Mrs. N. Pazuniak is a member of UNWLA and has worked for years on the editorial Board of our magazine. She has had edit orials and articles as well as cul tural m aterial for internal use of UNWLA. We congratulate our young linguist and member on this sucqess. 75TH ANNIVERSARY CONFERENCE OF INTER NATIONAL COUNCIL OF WOMEN The Triennial Assembly of the International Council of Women will be held in W ashington, D.C. from June 19 through June 30. Several hundred delegates will represent 49 countries of E u r ope, Asia, Africa, Latin America, A ustralia and New Zealand, as well as the United States and Canada, at the twelve-day con ference to be held at the Statler- Hilton Hotel in our nation’s ca pital. The Ukrainian National Women’s League of America, which is a member organization of the National Council of Wom en, will be represented by its president, Mrs. Helen Lototsky. Also attending the Conference will be Mrs. Mary Dushnyck for “Our Life” Magazine. The chairm anship of the 75th Anniversary H onorary Commit tee has been accepted by the F irst Lady, Mrs. John F. Kenne dy, as well as Mrs. Lyndon B. Johnson and Mrs. Dwight D. Ei senhower, it has been announced by the president of the NCW in the United States, Mrs. Yarnall Jacobs. The Committee will in clude women leaders from all over the world, am bassadors’ wives, presidents of national or ganizations, prom inent women in governm ent and all fields and professions, and outstanding women in local communities. Mrs. Lototsky has also been named a member of this distin guished Honorary Committee. The Conference has scheduled a series of committee and board meetings on a variety of sub jects, such as woman suffrage, fam ily relationships, m igration, international relations and peace, health, education, fin ance, housing, the arts, trades and professions, etc. Program plans for the next three years will be form ulated after reports from the member countries have been given. In addition to the working ses sions, there will be tim e for the delegates and guests to enjoy the cultural and social divertise- m ents offered by the capital city of the United States.
