Chop onion and add to fa t around th e roast and allow to brow n ; th en add th e w ater and p epper; reduce tem p eratu re to 300 d egrees and roast in cover ed pan for 1 and a h a lf hours, b a stin g 3 tim es m ore. Slice m eat and arrange on p la t ter. S train gra v y and pour over top o f sliced m eat. G arnish w ith chopped p arsley. M acaroni, red cabbage or b eets are good served w ith th is. F ru it and N u t Z w ieback 4 eggs sep arated ІУ 2 C. su g ar 2 C. m inced figs, raisins, n u ts and alm onds 2 C. flo u r B lend eg g yolks and su gar and b eat fo r 10 m in u tes. A dd m inced fr u it and n u ts. S tir in flou r and fold in stiffly b eaten eg g w h ites. B ake in long, shallow , greased cake pan at 300 d egrees for 45 m in utes. W hen done, cover w ith dry cloth b efore rem ovin g from oven and leave covered u n til cool. C ut w ith a sharp k n ife. Good w ith tea.
