You 'have recently received a circular of the Central Office of UNWLA. It contains the. most important objectives outlined by the XI convention of UNWLA. Please, read it at your earliest gathering and review the problems. Since each division of activity is of similar importance for the organization, be heedful of all of them. Together with the Circular we. are sending the lists for entering the donations for discharging die debt on the house of 'UNWLA. Ev ery member may donate $1.00 toward defrayment of mortgage. We call to yo.ur attention the decision of the XI Convention,. Such small contribution by every member and the ownership of the 'house by UNWLA will be completed. The manager of OUR LIFE will soon send lists of subscribers of our magazine to Presidents o'f Regional Councils and of Branches. This will enable them to establish who, out of the members of the Branch, already are subscribing fo.r OUR LIFE, and who are not. In trying to find a fitting Christmas gift for your relative or good friend, why don’t you subscribe for OUR LIFE for h e r. You will make her, or him, happy every time the postman brings a new copy. Neither forget your friends, o.r those unable to subscribe, in Ger many, Austria, France, Belgium, England. Do subscribe for them. There is, in this issue, an order blank which will facilitate your order. We know that many of you have American friends whom you wish to present with a Christmas gift. And here are the most suitable items — the books -published by UNW-LlA, “Spirit of Flame” by Les- sya Ukrainka, and “The Woman of Ukraine” by many authors. While caroling, let us not forget our own UNWLA. Let us re member that our own organization needs constant support by its members for it will be as strong as its members will endeavor to make it. We have no doubts that our members and friends will cheer fully respond to your appeals. If we do not remember our own objec tives, no one else will. UKRAINIAN CHRISTMAS EVE DINNER Kutya (Wheat Dish) Borsch Stuffed Jellied Fish Holubtsee Vareniki Dried Cooked Pears Kolach Kutya 2 cups wheat V 2 cup chopped nuts % cup poppy seeds honey Pick out foreign grains from wheat kernels. Wash well. Put in pan and dry in oven 3/4 hour at 250°. ,Stir occasionally. When dry put in sugar sack and beat with rolling pin to loosen skin of wheat. Wash thoroughly,. Cook until tender, about 2 hours. Wash 3/4 cup ipoippy seed. Then pour boiling water over seeds to cover and let stand 15 minutes. Drain, G rind poppy seed in food chopper using fine plate. Combine cooled wheat, pappy and nuts. Add ‘honey to taste, about 2 cups.
