Their ap pearance on this program- was in response to a special request from the Mayor of Akron to have the Ukrainians take part in this event. The Junior League' is also credited wkh giving aid to the purchasing of the new Interna tional Center which is celebrat ing its opening during the month of January. Combining their May meeting with a pot-luck supper the members enltertained their parents with an evening of games, humorous poems and short impromptu speeches given by a nunilber of parents them selves who told of their trials and tribulations in bringing up children. November 21st found the ju nior Leaguers sponsoring their first dance which was a huge success and attended by a num ber of- the -Junior League mem bers from - .Cleveland, Ohio. On Thanksgiving arid Christmas the girls brought .holiday happiness to twoi^rieedy Akron families The ;A&r,on Junior League has taken active participation in the ; Ukrainian'Youth League of Ohio as well as the UYL-NA. In presenting a brief” outline for the coming year the officers are confident that the Organiza tion will continue its activities and will place special emphasis .on Ukrainian, cuteare b y com- bining; ea^fclfteeting with an em broidery houf following.
