Annual Report 2021 page 12 Through its representatives in Ukraine, the UNWLA sent personal Christmas and Easter greetings with small monetary gifts to 515 elderly women across Ukraine. These b a b u s i (“grandmas” in Ukrainian) all belong to the Ukrainian Society of Political Pris- oners and Victims of Repressions. Some of them also belong to the Ukrainian Women’s League in Ukrai- ne. Our Branches in the U.S. have ex- plored extending the B a b u s i initiative to elderly women in their own commu- nities. War Victims Fund Timely assistance to injured active-duty soldiers and their families ensured that they live a rewarding and independent life. The War Victims Fund contributes to the immediate and long-term needs of wounded warriors and civilians in- jured in the war for dignity. Babusi Fund
