Laureates of the Kovaliv Fund award since its inception: Annual Report 2021 page 10 Beginning in 2010, the UNWLA supported an initiative of the Ukrainian Shakespearian Center that united Ukrainian universities around a research contest dedicated to William Shakespeare. More than 400 students from 27 universities in 19 Ukrainian cities participated in the contest during its 10 years of existence. In 2019, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine took the National Shakespeare Contest under its umbrella, affirming its value on the national level. The contest’s judges are globally recognized literary scholars, theater scholars, and literary translators, and the UNWLA continues to provide the funding for the award stipends.
