🔵 Spotlight: Ukraine Action Summit

Ukrainian Advocacy Summt | UNWLA - Ukrainian National Womens League of America

Ukraine Action Summit is a community advocacy event that took place September 18-22 in Washington, D.C. It was an opportunity to show our elected representatives why the U.S. must continue helping Ukraine. The summit gathered 270 constituents from all over the U.S. to advocate with their representatives on Capitol Hill… and over 140 congressional meetings, including a dozen drop-ins that turned into lengthy, productive conversations.
UNWLA National Advocacy Chair Marianna Tretiak took a leadership role in planning and executing the Ukraine Action Summit. Irena Chalupa, UNWLA National Board member, moderated a panel with great friends of Ukraine, Ambassadors Steven Pifer and Michael McFaul, Dr. Emily Channel-Justice of Harvard’s Ukrainian Institute, and Robert McConnell of the US Ukraine Foundation.

As a reminder, the midterm elections on November 8, 2022, are quickly approaching. Now is the time to pay particular attention to what the candidates are saying about supporting Ukraine during the Russian war of aggression. Are you an American citizen? If so, it’s not too late to register to vote for the midterm elections! Visit www.vote.org to learn about your state’s requirements and ensure your voice is heard.
