The Ukrainian National Women’s League of America is proud to announce the recipient of the Eva Staszkiw Fund scholarship.
The UNWLA Eva Staszkiw Fund, established in the 1950s, has a long and impactful legacy of supporting Ukrainian students in the U.S. Dedicated to advancing Ukrainian studies and fostering academic excellence, the Fund was created through the generosity of Eva Staszkiw, a passionate advocate for education and Ukrainian heritage. She donated her life savings to ensure future generations of Ukrainian students would have the opportunity to pursue higher education and contribute to the global Ukrainian community.
This year, the UNWLA awarded the $3,000 Staszkiw scholarship to Olesia Sarazhynskyy, a student at the University of Minnesota studying industrial and organizational psychology. Since the invasion of Ukraine, Olesia has been deeply involved in advocacy and humanitarian work. She founded Kids For Ukraine and has worked with the Protez Foundation, focusing on helping Ukrainian refugees and supporting the Ukrainian people.
