Children Praying for Children is an annual advocacy campaign launched by the Ukrainian National Women’s League of America (UNWLA) in 2024 to raise awareness about the illegal abduction of Ukrainian children from temporarily occupied territories by russian authorities.
Each weekend around June 1st — International Children’s Day — we invite local communities across the United States to come together in prayer for the thousands of Ukrainian children who have been forcibly removed from their homes, transferred to russia, placed in so-called “re-education” camps, or had their identities changed and put up for adoption.
Houston’s UNWLA Branch 118 is proud to be hosting our second annual prayer gathering event at Pokrova Ukrainian Catholic Church on Sunday, June 1st at 12-130pm CDT. This year we have partnered with additional congregations and organizations to host auxiliary prayer sites at additional dates/times the weekend of June 1st, so that sympathetic youths and their parents may be able to participate.
Order of Events:
12:00pm – Gather together
12:10pm – Introduction & Mini-Presentation
12:30pm – Recitation of Prayer & Intentions, followed by Group Photo
1:00pm – Reception with Light Bites
Unable to join us at Pokrova on June 1st at 12pm?
