Event Description: Ukrainian Pysanka Demonstration and Workshop
Join us for a Ukrainian Pysanka Demonstration and Workshop where you will learn the rich history, traditions, and symbolism behind the pysanka, the traditional Ukrainian Easter egg. Experience the intricate wax-resist technique using a kistka, beeswax, and dyes to create your own cherished pysanka.

Workshop Highlights:
- Pysanka demonstration by Gloria Horbaty, experienced lecturer and instructor of pysanka decorating.
- Hands-on experience creating your own pysanka.
- Program sponsored by the Ukrainian National Women’s League, Ukrainian Heritage Center, and the CT Ukrainian-American Historical Society.
Open to All Ages – Families Welcome! (Children must be accompanied by an adult)
Donation: $10.00 per participant
✏️ Supplies Needed: (Available for purchase at the workshop for a nominal fee)
- 2-3 white, whole, raw eggs (unblemished, room temperature)
- Soft-leaded pencil
- 2 short candles (6” max, no votive) & low candle holder
