Children Praying for Children
June 1 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
On June 1st, UNWLA Branch 124 will join communities across the United States in Children Praying for Children, an annual advocacy campaign launched by the UNWLA – Ukrainian National Women’s League of America, Inc.
Together, we will gather in prayer for the thousands of Ukrainian children who have been illegally taken from their families and homes by russian authorities — children who have been deported, placed in so-called “re-education” camps, had their identities erased, and even put up for adoption. To date, the Ukrainian government has confirmed nearly 20,000 children in russian captivity. russian officials claim over 700,000 children have been relocated — a number impossible to verify amidst the war.
This prayer is a call to conscience. Under international law, children are entitled to special protection — and what is happening to Ukrainian children is not only a humanitarian tragedy, it is a grave violation of international law and meets the definition of genocide. Would you like to hold a similar event at your church or in your community?
Please reach out to us — we will gladly share information and resources to help you organize your own prayer gathering. Please help us spread the word — share our post and join us in standing for truth, justice, and the safe return of every child
