Earlier this year the UNWLA partnered with the Shevchenko Scientific Society in New York in awarding scholarships to outstanding students from Ukraine who had suffered as a result of the war with Russia. The UNWLA donated $20,000 towards scholarships for 10 students from across Ukraine who went through a rigorous selection process.
On Sept. 14th the Shevchenko Scientific Society held an appreciation evening in which they thanked the UNWLA for their generous financial support which gave these students hope for a better future. Several members of the UNWLA National Board also attended the event at which UNWLA President, Marianna Zajac, gave a short speech describing UNWLA’s long history of providing support across a multitude of educational projects.
